Improvement of Fitchburg to Boston Commuter Rail Line
MART along with MBTA is in the process of improving the commuter rail line between Boston and Fitchburg. Congressman Olver helped us with $75 million in federal assistance along with our legislative delegation led by Jennifer Flanagan we are able to procure $75 million state bond match.
In addition, MBTA is using $27.5 million of its own stimulus money toward the improvement of the project.
Gardner Maintenance Facility

The Gardner Maintenance Facility Construction is complete. The new facility is located at 555 Main Street in Gardner. MART held a Grand Opening Ceremony on March 27, 2009. The cost of the project was $7 million.
Construction of MART Bus and Van Storage Facility on North Main Street, Leominster
Project includes an expansion from existing vehicle storage building to accommodate approximately 100 vehicles. Architect, Gannett Fleming is in the design phase of the project and has assured us the project will be ready for bid in June 2009. Permitting and environmental requirements have already been satisfied with local government. $2.1 million
MART is in the process of expanding the facility adjacent to MART's administrative offices located on North Main Street in Leominster at a cost of approximately $2.1 million.
