MART is working in conjunction with the MBTA, EOT-PW and FTA on a major rail line improvement project for The Massachusetts Association of Regional Transit Authorities (MARTA) is a non-profit association of the Commonwealth's 15 regional transit authorities (RTA's) and associate members. The RTA's provide public transportation to more than 31 million passengers each year, primarily outside of the Greater Boston area served by the MBTA.
The Montachusett Regional Transit Authority (MART) was created in August 1978, under MA General Laws Chapter 161B as provided by Chapter 1141 of the Acts of 1973. MART’s current fleet consists of 26 buses, 23 station wagons, 91 vans and 2 trolleys.
